GMC Repair: 1988 GMC/Safari heater problem-no heat, gmc safari, safari van

Question
I have a 1988 GMC/Safari van,4.3 6cyl. with 156000 miles. I get cold air coming out of my vents and heat ducts. I changed the thermostst and put in new anti-freeze but still no heat.Could you please help me to figure out what the problem is and how I can fix this? Could it be the heater core and if it is how can I replace it or repair it?

Are BOTH heater hoses going thru the firewall to the haeter core HOT to the touch at normal operating temperature ?.

What was the LAST repair on the vehicle ?. ANY repair of any nature ?. In most cases problems that arise days, weeks or even months later can usually be traced back to the previous repair.
