Question -
it is the cooling system connector that threads into the intake manifold on a '97 yukon....

so it goes from a hose to this "cooling system connector" (which is what the part is called from the auto parts store) to the intake manifold.

Question -
My connector broke off at the threads leaving a piece of the connector still in the intake manifold. I went and got an easy out kit, but its not budging..just eating it up and I'm afraid its going to damage the threads. Any suggestions on getting this out?

Thank you in advance for your time,

Jeff

That's better. Now I know what you are referring to.

OK, Don't panic, Your in no deep do-do yet.

Go to the auto parts store and buy an aerosol can of RUST BUSTER or it's equivelant and soak the area of this connectror for a few hours and then try your easy out.

If your still unsuccessful, You can take a drill bit and coating the drill bit with heavy grease as the grease will prevent the metal shavings from having them fall into the cooling chamber of the cooling system.

Even if you damage the threads you can re-tap the threads again using heavy grease on the tap to catch the metal shavings and once re-tapped, Install a new connectror.

A little patience and careful drilling succeeds every time.

Let me know your progress.

Answer
No problem, that's what I am here for is to help. Don't worry if you get a small amount of metal chips in the cooling system as rarely do they cause any problems at all.

If they concern you, After your successful repair, you can flush the entire cooling system and these chips will flush out.

Keep me posted.
