GMC Repair: Amps produced by an alternator, chevy gmc, auto parts store

Question
I am Working on a side project using parts from cars, lawnmowers and others. I need a Chevy/GMC alternator with the built in voltage regulator. The Chevy/GMC wire harness is well made for what I am doing. My question is what vehicle's alternator puts out the hightest amps? Perhaps some truck with a tow package?  Something easy to find at my local junkyard.

Thank You!

Answer
If you look on the casing on the alternator it is STAMPED with amperage output. They range from 60 to 100 amp. Any large V-8 engine will usually have an 80 amp which is plenty for your project.

If you find one and it needs to be rebuilt you can send it to me and I will rebuild it at cost plus $10.00.

Actually they are not very expensive to buy rebuilt at any auto parts store.
