GMC Repair: S10 BLazer Heater A/C Control, e mail address, s10 blazer

Question
1994 S-10 Blazer 2WD. Two Problems, doubt they're related. 1st: Cruise control just stopped working. Do you have any Suggestions to troubleshoot?  2nd:  The slide switch on Airflow control for A/C and Heater (defrost, htr, A/c, Max a/c) Stopped working.  Air always stays to Defrost Vents.  I Suspect Vacuum Problem.  Any suggestions to troubleshoot (where to begin before I start)

Answer
Vacuum leak seems to be what the problem is, Finding it can be a challenge. I have found over the years that if you had any work of ankind done on the vehicle always go back and look in the areas of where the work was done as you usually find a cracked, loose or broken vacuum or electrical connection that was either done by ACCIDENT or if you had it to an unreputable facility it may have been done on PURPOSE.

THere is one trick I learned from my grandfather who smoked cigars. Locate the vacuum line that goes thru the firewall from the vacuum source on the engine to the inside vacuum controls and disconnect it at the engine vacuum source.

Take a long inhale of smoke and blow it into the vacuum line that you just connected and have someone inside the vehicle watch for smoke to appear from the dash. Works every time.
