GMC Repair: Steering, autohelp, faulty component

Question
I have a 1999 G.M.C. Yukon. At times when turning to the right it feels like it has a tight spot then releases.I have been told it is a steering sensor. and a mechanic told me that i would have to change the steering gear. IT has to be simple because it doesn't do it all the time.                        Thanks Gerald

Answer
Steering systems is something that I have much experience with as I just had no desire to get involved in this system.

However, I would STRONGLY suggest that you have a professional reliable facility perform the diagnostics and recommended repair of the faulty component. This will be money well spent as steering is NOT something that you want to be CHEAP on as your life and the lives of others depend upon your steering working properly each and every time you use it.

For giving you and advise on this subject would be doing you a great DIS-SERVICE.

I am sorry that I cannot help you on this one.
