GMC Repair: replace rear end and was not same gear speed, calibration device, gear speed

Question
how do I get my speedometer to show the right speed now?  Reads ten miles an hour slower then suburban is going

Answer
I do NOT condone altering manufacturers specifications to a vehicle but I have heard your problem many times. You can try and contact a speedometer test facility such as the police department does to calibrate the speedometers in their patrol cars. They can test your speedometer and install an adjustable or fixed calibration device between the electrical connector and your original speedometer sensor at the trans.

The KIT that you installed to alter the gearing should have stated that this problem would occur and provide instructions as to HOW to compensate for it. But most people ONLY read the directions AFTER they have a problem, Must be human nature.
