GMC Repair: EGR problem with Saturn, saturn sl2, smooth movements

Question
Hello,

Since the website does not currently have volunteers for Saturns, I wanted to find the closest I can. I drive a '93 Saturn SL2, DOHC, VIN-7.  The RPM's will not go above 4000 when sitting still, and the engine boggs down when I accelerate.  I am also getting an error code of 32.  I vacuum tested the EGR diaphram and found that it has smooth movements.  When checking for vacuum on the solenoid I get nothing while idling, but when I rev the engine, the gauge momentarily spikes to approx. -40Kpa.  The gauge then returns and stays at zero even with continued reving.

Do you have any suggestions as to what else I can test?

Emi

Answer
What is The nomenclature for a code 32 ?. Each and every vehicle has different meanings for different codes so I need to know what a code 32 is.

From what you said I see no problem with your EGR function as it appears to be operating just as it is designed to do.

What is the past repair history of this vehicle.

Perform a BACK PRESSURE test of the exhaust system as there is a possibility that you may have a restriction owithin the catalytic converter(s), If applicable to your vehicle.

Let me know what you get as far as back pressure specs and check your vehicles specs to see if it is within specs as designed by the manufacturer.

let me know.
