GMC Repair: Running water sound, chevy blazer, 1998 chevy blazer

Question
I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer that has 87,000 miles on it, routine repairs, with replacement of the alternator 3 weeks ago.  Recently (before alternator replaced),  I began hearing a running water sound that lasts several seconds.  It seems to be near the right front wheel, usually when accelerating.  A friend told me this was just the a/c draining, but the sound occurs even when the a/c has not been used, and I did not notice it last summer.  The a/c runs fine, no noted leaks other than draining water down the right mudflap.  I am not sure if this is connected to a clunking noise when gears shift, that just began this weekend.  I'm pretty sure that is the c-v joint, to be taken to the shop tomorrow for repair.  Any advice about the running water sound would be much appreciated.

Answer
Hi Tonya. This as hard to answer without actually hearing the noise. I would first have the AC drain cleaned out, please remember that your AC system is ON when the defroster is on to dry the humid air before it goes to your interior. Next, i would clean out the drain on the bottom your door, there may be water inside the door. I'm sorry i couldn't be of more help, but try these two things and get back to me and let me know if this helped, if not, I will continue to work on this until we find a cure. Manfred
