Acura Repair: wheel noise., cv joints, brake master cylinder

Question
Hi Jose.  Another question.  My lil's sister's '95 Mercury Tracer just started making a squealing/squeaking type noise that sounds like it's coming from the front wheels/axel area. It sounds a lot like squeaky/squealing brake pads.  However, it stops making the noise when I apply the brakes.  Could this be a problem with the bearings?  CV joints?  Should this be something I get checked out right away?

Many thanks as always!

Sincerely,

Jenn

Answer
hey Jenn,
the reason it stops making the noise is because of the friction that is created between the pad and the rotor..
most likly the rotor is glazed over and the brake dust between the pad and the rotor is what makes the noise, and yet again the pad's just might be worn down and your need a brake job, a simple check is to check the brake master cylinder in the engine compartment (little cup where you add all the brake fluid)and see if it's below the "Fill" line. which is most likly the case, then you should find a good grage to help you fix the problem right the frist time...Good luck
Sincerly, your Friend,
