Alfa Romeo Repair: Alfa Spider Veloce 1974 2liter, valve stem seals, oil pressure sender

Question
Just started my car and noticed major oil smoke from exhaust and no oil
pressure at gauge. Car was parked for 3mths, no problems prior with oil
consumption, oil smoke etc. Appreciate any thoughts on what may have
happened, or on how to diagnose problem.

Answer
It is highly probable that the valve stem seals have given up--if you see blue smoke as opposed to black smoke.

Is the oil level on the dipstick ok--then the oil pressure sender may have failed. It is necessary to attach a mechanical gauge where the sender goes to really check the pressure.
