when i turn on the ignition the air bag warning light comes on then starts flashing and stays flashing,any help please.alfa 156 selespeed 2000

A scanner needs to be hooked up to be sure what the problem is. However, most of the time it is the clockspring in the steering wheel under the airbag. Before any airbag work the battery must be disconnected and after two minutes touch the negative cabale to the positive cable (to be sure the airbag condenser is depleted) and then work may proceed on the airbag system.

By the way. With lap and shoulder belt your chances of surviving an accident are improved by 46%. The airbag adds 8% to that figure. With no belt and only the airbag your survival rate is improved about 18%. I really like lap and shoulder belts.
