Alfa Romeo Repair: DIFFULTIES IN STARTING, alfa 156 2000, volt drop

Question
I HAVE AN ALFA 156 (2000 MODEL) SOMETIME WHEN I COME TO START UP THE ENGEN DO NOT START UP, YOU CAN HEAR THE ELECTRICS OPPERATE BUT THE CAR WONT FIRE UP.

I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IF I ROCK THE CAR IN GEAR IT WOULD HELP IN STARTING.

THIS I HAVE DONE AND IT SEEMS TO WORK.

ALSO BEEN ADVISED THAT IT COULD BE THE STARTER MOTOR STICKING.. COULD THIS BE THE PROBLEM?

ANY ADVICE AND HELP WOULD BE HANDY.

Answer
It could be a bad starter, but, it might be a bad battery cable or just corroded connections at the battery.

Try cleaning the connections at the battery. Then have a volt drop test performed on the positive and negative cables before
changing the starter.
