Alfa Romeo Repair: Rocking, rubber bushings, spider veloce

Question
Hello Stephen:
I’m new to the Alfas, just brought a 1983 spider veloce and it looks and runs fine overall but, when driving between 55 and 65 mph I can feel the car gently rocking sideways at the same intensity regardless of the speed, it is not shaking or vibrating, just rocking and it seams that the movement comes from the back of the car. Same thing while rolling down the road at less the 10 mph.
Any suggestions to help ID and solve the problem?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
Carefully check all the rubber bushings in the rear end. Especially the ones supporting the de Dion rear-end. And replace the shocks even if you think they are fine. If there is sag in the rear replace the rear springs but this is not related to the rocking--that is caused by the worn rubber bushings.
