Alfa Romeo Repair: NEW ECU, vehicle sensor, alfa romeo

Question
HI I HAVE A 1999 ALFA ROMEO TS 156 2.0, JUST SENT FOR NEW ECU, MY QUESTION IS CAN I JUST FIT IT AND START THE CAR UP, OR DO I NEED A MACHINE TO PUT CODES IN, DOES IT SELF CODE.I HAD 2 PROBLEMS THE THROTTLE SENSOR HAD GONE AND ECU HAD GONE FIXED THE THROTTLE SENSOR SO NEED HELP WITH ECU THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

Answer
The ECU does not need a code but it is best to let it idle for one or two minutes and then drive ten miles with stop and go to get the ecu to understand the vehicle sensor inputs. If you have the immobilzer unit pull it out and the code to reset it is on the bottom.  More info on that at www.alfaowner.com/forum
