American Motors: oil pan removal, oil pan, crossmember

how do i remove the oil pan from my 1963 rambler 287 v8

Answer
Gain access to the pan by:
1) Removing the engine
2) Dropping the front crossmember and suspension while proprly supporting the engine from above.

Once this is done, remove the bolts securing the oil pan to the block and remove the pan.

This is not a typical DIY job, especially if the person does not have experience.
