American Motors: oil to use in classic car, 66 rambler, gasoline engines

Question
IT WAS SUGGESTED I USE A/40 rather than 10/30 in my newley acquired 66 Rambler classic 770 with the 232cd engine- do you agree? Also to use either Sea-Foam or STP Oil additive as well.

Answer
You should not have a problem using 10W30 or 10W40 in your 232. Adding STP will only make the oil thicker. Try a bottle of Z-Max, Wynn's, J-B, etc. I'm not familiar with Sea-Foam in gasoline engines.
Monitor your oil level and see if you have an oil consumption problem.
