American Motors: 1967 amc marlin, rear brake drums, time thanks

Question
How do you remove the rear brake drums on 1967 AMC Marlin? Do they just pull off as other cars, or do you have to remove the hub at the same time?? thanks, Randy..

Answer
There are usually 3 bolts that secure the drum to the hub. Often, rust will also cause a problem. If that's the case, soak the hub/drum area with rust penetrant. Let is soak awhile and use a hammer to break the drum lose from the hub. The hub and drum are two separate components. The drum should slide off when lose.
