Answer
How much money do you want to spend?
Seriously, if you are driving this car, the first items you need to address are anything safety related.
1) Exhaust system. You might have to have a system made, being that the vehicle is so old.
2) Brakes? Suspension? Tires? Steering system?
3) Engine? Cooling system? Transmission?
4) Any rust that allows outside air in. This would allow exhaust to get inside while driving, not good.
5) After the safety related items are fixed, go after the aesthetics.
Body, paint, interior, seats.
If you need some old parts, try this place: Collier AMC in Pikeville, NC. They are an old AMC dealer and have a couple hundred parts cars sitting around. Their number is 919-242-4462, ask for Mr. Collier.
Good luck and have fun.
