American Motors: POOR OIL FLOW,BURNT 2 LIFTERS, oil pressure gauge, mechanical oil pressure gauge

I HAVE A 360 THAT I PUT IN TO A 84 WAG IT WAS A REMAN MOTOR.THE MOTOR RAN GREAT FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS THEN CAME THAT FAMILAR KNOCK FROM THE LIFTERS. SO I CHANGED EVERYTHING LIFTERS,PUSHRODS,AND OIL PUMP GEARS.SO NOW WERE BACK TO RUNNING GREAT FOR 8 FREAK'N MONTHS.I LOVE AND HATE THIS WAG,AND FOR SOME REASON I CAN'T OR DON'T WANT TO SELL IT.OH BY THE WAY IT'S BEEN SITTING FOR 2 YEARS NOW. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN THANX.

I would recommend hooking up a mechanical oil pressure gauge and monitor the oil pressure.
The weak link in this engine is the oiling system. Did you actually burn 2 lifters? What did the lifters look like when you replaced them? What brand replacement lifters did you use? Did you replace the oil pressure spring in the pump housing?
