American Motors: Lack of compression., head gasket problem, gague

Question
Hi,

My stepson crashed my car and I replaced the intake manifold, radiator, rad fan, coolant hoses etc.

Now my car will not start and I have no copression on cylinders 2 and 4. The car is a 95 neon and I am wondering if this could be the head gasket - which I replaced about 4 years ago. What are the possible causes? I know your not listed as a dodge expert but this is kinda general.

I appreciate your help.

thanks.
Greg

Answer
Yes it is the head gasket, it probably broke and no longers compresses but lets the gas escape into the other cylinder.  To check this is to get to compression gague for cylendar 2 & 4 and crank the engine, as the one of the cylendars goes up to compress it there is a "jump"  in the other gague, there is a head gasket problem.
