American Motors: Jeep Guages, 1995 Wrangler, electrical wiring diagram, needle in a haystack

Question
All the instruments have stopped working. The fuse is OK. It acts like there is an open circuit somewhere. What diagnosis proceedure can I use to begin the search? There must be some easy way to find this problem.

Thanks

Answer
I would strongly recommend finding an electrical wiring diagram for your vehicle. This could be found in a service manual or repair manual. Without one, your looking for the perverbial needle in a haystack.
I do not have a lot of experience with the newer Jeeps. It could be a defective CVR. Constant Voltage Regulator. This is a devise that controls current to the gauges. On AMC's, it is located on the back of the istrument cluster, where the gauges mount. You might also inspect teh circuit board in the instrument cluster.
The best thing, though, is to follow the circuits in the wiring diagram.
Good luck.
