American Motors: 307 to 350, chevy 350, buick lesabre

Question
I'm in the process of getting a 1984 Buick LeSabre, which has a 307 in it and I want to put a chevy 350 in it. Will it mount correctly? if not what do i have to change?

Answer
Does the Lesabre have an Olds 307? The trans may be a dual pattern TH200. If not, then it won't bolt up due to the 307 being a BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac and Caddy) pattern and the Chev being well, Chev! The motor mounts and exhaust are different as well. My son just swapped a '72 Olds 350 Rocket into an '85 Delta 88 that had a 307. Even then many things were very different! PS, AC brackets. Wiring was swapped, but the carbs were switched due to emissions and computer controlled trans shifting being part of the carb.
