Audio Systems: Alpine CDA-9805, alpine cda 9805, hot weather

Question
Stereo will not change stations, plays 1 station without problems.  I've cleaned contacts on the removable head, no change.  Sometimes last summer, in hot weather, the stereo would change stations OK.

Answer
My guess is the head unit is defective and needs service or replacement.

Have you talked or emailed with an Alpine technical representative?  Try that; they may lead you to a solution.

The fact it worked well in the hot weather and not the cooler conditions indicates a heat related problem, perhaps.

Also, you might try a reset. You can do this by removing total power from the head unit for 15 or 20 minutes, then power up again.  It could be memory system needs rebooting.   A reset will do this.  BUT: Be sure to check the theft code.  If you don't have the turn on code it will not operate after power has been removed until you enter the theft codes into the display.  ( I think; if this model does not have the theft code system then you will be okey.  Your manual will tell you and should have the code somewhere with the original papers that came with the unit).

Hope this helps.
