Audio Systems: 2006 Honda Pilot EX - 6 cd /stereo, honda pilot, audio

Question
QUESTION: My radio/cd plays bass only, no treble sound. When I turn the system on there is a one second silence then a "snap" or "crack" sound and the system plays bass only. It initially happened several weeks ago, then it was normal for a few days and now it is playing bass only again. All system options are still functioning (i.e. fader, balance etc). I think it is some kind of speaker resistor or fuse that is causing the problem but all fuses for the system are OK. Is there a simple fix or must I replace the speakers and/ or the entire system?

ANSWER: what radio you have ? is this the boe system ? all the speakers playing base or only the woofers ?>

QUESTION: I checked the owners manual and all sales paperwork (including the window sticker)from the dealer and the sound system manufacturers name is not given. It is the EX-L 6CD/Radio with XM and 7 speakers, including sub woofer. It does not have the rear entertainment system option.
I do not think it is a Bose system since they would probably promote this on the window sticker.
It appears that base sound is only coming from the rear woofer since there is no sound from the front or door speakers. Thanks again for your help.

Answer
The basic sound system comes with only 4 speakers in your case there is 6 2 doors 2 rear and 2 small twetters at front plus the woofer , That is 7 it don't look to be Bose,
most likely you have navigation, the audio parts stops the audio of the radio to send the navigation commands to the speakers,
it is possible that for some reason the navigation system is not letting the audio go tot he speakers,  pull the radio out and unplug the navigation  the plug is white with 14 pins   looks like this picture white or blue plug

If the radio works again, the problem is in the navigation, you can also remove the negative terminal from the battery for 30 minutes to reset the audio system, before you pull the radio out to unplug  the nav system

good luck
