hi im new at this. i want to install a sound system in my 03 chevy tahoe with bose,onstar,and steering wheel controls,,i would like to install a double din and shallow subs to reduce the amount of space since i have no space in the back.whatwould be the best equipment at a reasonable price?

There are two possible routes to follow since you want to upgrade the system.

ONE ALTERNATIVE:  Go to the experts on aftermarket configurations.  Crutchfield are the experts hands down for this kind of upgrade.  Go the their home page and select the "Outfit my car" work out.  You will find it here:

TWO: For a customized system that is compatible with the interfaces and all you will need a professional who can do custom installations. For this you will need a professional installer who has experience with Chevy platforms.  You mention Bose; does it have a Bose system in it now or are you saying you want to install a Bose system?  Since Bose is non-industry standard it is difficult to mix their systems with other aftermarket components and require all Bose stuff.  Using Bose always places serious restrictions on the expandability of a system.  You would need a professional installer to help you work through a Bose system unless you already have a Bose head end in the dash and Bose speakers, etc......
