Audio Systems: 2002 malibu aftermarket radio installation, chevrolet radio module interface, gmradio chime module

My son purchased an aftermarket radio. The factory radio has a serial data line connected to OEM radio. What line would connect to this data line from the aftermarket radio? or is there a by-pass connection that is made to ensure proper communication to the PCM, or functions needing this line? I don't want to just cut the connector off the harness if this line needed. Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That is correct your chevy malibu radio works on databuss , don't cut any cables or you are going to have some ugly electric problems, to install a new radio you need the correct module
