Audio Systems: PA system, passive crossovers, passive speakers

Question
housing 1:
-1,75" titanium driver : 80W , 8ohm , from 1500 Hz (with matching horn)
-2 x 12" middbass : 400W RMS , 8ohm , 55 - 5000 Hz
housing 2:
-18" woofer : 600W RMS , 8ohm , 40 - 2000 Hz
-18" subwoofer : 700W RMS , 8ohm , 38 - 1000 Hz
I thought i would give all information before questioning..

So i have these 2 passive speakers, but no amplifiers or crossovers, which kind of amps and crossover would you use with these speakers? I was thinking about an active 2-way crossover at first (one for housing 1 and one for housing 2) and after that 2 amps. 1000W amp for housing 1 and 1500W amp for housing 2. How would you connect everything or would you do something completely different? At wich frequencies would you set the crossover(s)?

P.S. I preferred passive crossovers but i have a hard time finding the right ones which can handle the power and i apologize for my English, it isn't my native language.

Answer
Hi,

I guess it depends a bit on what your budget is...

Some of the amps & crossovers that I've used are Crown, Carvin, Yamaha... From a price perspective, Carvin delivers pretty well. Most of the time, I'm dealing with different house systems as I'm a hired gun, and don't have my own PA (I do more studio production). Also, I'm not a system designer, so unless I know precisely what gear you're using and the environment you're using them in, I don't like to speculate.
