Audio Systems: Popping sound coming out of speakers, cadillac seville, electrical problem

1996 Cadillac Seville STS my radio quit working no lights but the speakers started popping and when I pull the fuse for the amp the speakers stop but a relay is clicking and will not stop until I pull the fuse for radio. I took the radio out and seemed to help but than with the radio out the relay started clicking again and the speakers started popping again. Please help.

Seems to be an electrical problem rather than a radio malfunction.  Relays clicking are generally caused by bad battery (shorted cell) or something in the cars system that is putting a load on the electrical system that is preventing the relay from holding up.  

I am not familiar with the electrical wiring of your car but most cars have some relays involved with the battery and alternator charging system and that is congruent with the bad battery idea.

So, my advice would be to check the battery or at least the voltage of the system to make sure it is working normally.
