Hi:

The tape player in my 2000 Mazda Millenia will not accept a tape.  It kicks it out even if I try to hold it in.  Could it be something simple like a fuse, etc. or is it something expensive?

Sorry to hear it.  I would say, first guess, is the mechanism is not latching all the way due to either build up of ferrous oxide from the tape or normal wear and tear of the moving parts.

You can try a reset to see if it is the electronic sensors but I would not give it a strong possibility.  To reset you must pull the power from the unit for a few minutes and then power it up again.  Best way on this car is probably to find the fuse box, pull the fuse which feeds power to the radio system.

If you have a cleaning tape you could try that also. Cleaning tapes cost $2 to $10 depending on where you purchase them.
