Question
hey I just got a 2000 ford explorer with its stock deck and I was wondering what the cheapest way would be to hook up my ipod without using a fm transmitter because I want good quality sound?

Answer
If you want good sound quality stay away from FM modulators or tranmitters they dont work  if you want cheap buy a FM modulator

Ford radio are capable of audio input, you need a auxiliary audio adapter
Ford Radio aux Adapter
or a Ford ipod interface made for your factory radio,
Ford iPod interface
you will press the cd button twice  and if there is a cd changer it will need to be unplug

sound will be CD quality  good luck
