Audio Systems: 2006 Dodge Durango Auxillary Issue, 2006 dodge durango, radio volume

Question
Hello. I love to listen to my MP3 player while riding in my 2006 Dodge Durango so it's great that the factory radio comes with an auxiliary port to easily plug in my device and play it.

The problem is I cant find a way to adjust the sound sensitivity using the aux port. What I have to do to listen to it is turn the radio volume all the way up and the device volume all the way up to barely hear the music. This is frustrating because if I shut down the vehicle and forget that I have it blasted the radio will be way too loud next time I start it up because the auxiliary does not default when you start up the vehicle.

My question is do you know how I can adjust the auxiliary sensitivity so I don't have to crank it all the way up to listen to it so it will be a comfortable and clear volume? I hope this makes sense.

Answer
Hi, Randall.
Sadly, I still cannot find such a specific device on a shelf or online. You would think by now someone would be offering one.
Your best bet would be to have one of these spliced into the aux in circuit.

That will allow you to set the gain where you need it for your particular MP3 players' nominal output.
Then you plug an RCA to 3.5mm adapter into the amplifier and off you go.
This seems like a lot of work but (if your hardware is working properly) at this stage it is the only way (I know of) to overcome your situation.

*You might want to borrow/try a different MP3 player to see if it is just your players' output that is the problem.
*You also may have a bad cable.

I wish I had more for you.
