Audio Systems: 2005 Monte Carlo radio, monte carlo radio, crackling noise

Question
I have a 2005 Monte Carlo I never had any trouble with it until I used my car to jump start another car after that my battery was drained I had to have my car jump started 2 days later my car radio started messing up it lights up tells you the song its playing but no sound checkd fuses they are fine every once and awhile it will just start playing an will play fine but if you turn the car off and get back in it wont come back on but I hear like a crackling noise coming from the right back speaker and then the right front speaker. What is going on with my radio.

Answer
It seems the jump start event is not related to the radio going bad.  At least not directly.  If the jump event was part of the problem it would not waited for 2 days; it would have been direct.   Further, the symptoms you described are not the kind of things that a dead battery would invoke.

There are many radio versions in GM cars and without knowing exactly what version your car has all we can do is some guessing.  Let us assume your system uses an external amplifier to power the speakers.  It is possible this amp has gone bad - or the wiring that goes to it.

I think, under that scenario, the amplifier must be check out and possibly replaced or repaired.  The place to take it is not the car dealer as they do not have - in most cases - anyone on staff who knows how to work on entertainment systems.  Rather, you should take it in to a custom car radio install/repair shop.  They should be able to tell you within minutes what the problem is and what needs to be done to bring it back to life.  Could be something very simple or in the worst case a new amplifier - which is not terribly expensive.

Hope this will help you get on the right track.
