How can I import songs on cassettes into itunes in Wav format.

Audacity is a good software program to use.  There are many others; some are freeware, some are payware.  Here is audacity's download spot:

You can also use Windows Media Player to rip from the cassette and store in an WM format or WAV.  But audacity has more conversion tools available for you.

Your PC must have an audio input. Merely connect the output of your cassette player into the input on the PC. Launch the cross-platform recorder/editor and the rest is straight forward.
