Audio Systems: Modifying an auto cd/cassette system, mechanical pieces, power amplifier

Question
Hi,

Is it possible to modify an auto radio for preamp out, if it doesn't have it as manufactured. I am trying to build/modify a combo unit to go into my 95 Lincoln Continental with a jbl amplifier. I can fabricate the physical aspect to make it fit, but am unsure that a unit designed to stand alone can be modified to be used with an amplifier.

Any advice you can give me would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks again,

Mish Quartana

Answer
Yes, anything can be done if you know how to do it.  If you need a hi-lo converter to go from the output of a head unit to the input of a power amplifier please look at

www.installer.com

where you can find all sorts of interface products.

If you need mechanical pieces to make the unit fit the mounting hole you can also find such kits and parts at installer.com - and other such places online.

Let me know if you still have questions.
