Audio Systems: Speaker to match AKAI AM-UO2 amp, 8 ohm speakers, home speakers

Hi, appreciate the time! I have an old AKAI AM-UO2 amp, which indicates 140w. What type of speaker would work best? What spec on the speaker should I look for? I am sorry if my jargon is inaccurate. Kind regards. Micheal

That should be about 35-40 watts per channel.  The 140 watts you mention is the power consumption.
Any 8 Ohm speakers would work but I would look into some efficient, 8 Ohms speakers. Something with a rated efficiency of 91 DB at 1 watt or more would be very nice with the moderate power you have available.
Having said that, I would suggest to audition some Polk or Klipsch home speakers.
