Audio Systems: 1998 Chevy S10 Ext Cab, looking for a good setup, chevy s10, best bet

Question
I'd like to keep it at around $1,000 or so. But that's not set in stone, I can go up. I'd like a couple of subs that would preferably fit underneath the rear seats, yet powerful. Speakers, wiring, I need the whole deal. I do plan on visiting a audio shop at some point, but want to do research first. Thank you.

Answer
hey hey,
Your best bet for researching this will be using a facility like Crutchfield.com where you will be able to speak live on the phone about your situation and your specific desires.
You CAN beat their prices but you CANNOT beat their support. That said, if you are going to hire a pro to do the work, Crutchfield is a decent and reputable reference point for pricing the hardware (especially so if you plan to do this yourself since they will be sure to include all the kits and adapters you might need for free).
You can also get more usable live support as you explain to them exactly what 'powerful' means to you.

Once you have talked with them and established some starting points you can visit a site like http://www.parts-express.com/ to do some price comparisons.

Good luck and have fun!
