QUESTION: Hi,

Thanks for the response.

Apologies, forgot to mention that the cd does not play even after trying different ones. Make Jvc mp3 cd-rw kd-g405.

ANSWER: Answer remains the same.

You might want to do a hard reset.  This requires that power be completely removed from the changer and radio for at least 1/2 hour.  You can do this by removing power from one of the battery terminals in the vehicle.

Chances are the player mechanism and/or electronics needs service by one who is skilled in troubleshooting these kinds of things.  There are so many possible causes that it takes some visual, mechanical and electrical testing to learn, for sure, what is going on.

Wishing you the best.

QUESTION: Thanks a million for the response! Excuse my ignorance in this field, but where do I find the magazine? Is it something that can easily be removed or must I see a technician?

Answer
Some of this series of JVC head units use a magazine in which the discs are inserted.  It is a user removable pack in which the discs are inserted.

Maybe this specific model does not use a magazine; you can know by looking at where and how the discs are inserted.

You can download the owners manual for this model from www.retrevo.com if you need it.
