Audio Systems: Roland TR-505 Drum Machine Power Problem, roland tr 505, copper circuitry

Question
Hi Garry. I have an old Roland TR-505 drum machine that stopped working. I discovered the lithium cell battery inside had corroded, so I swapped it out for a new one.
Since then, the machine does work occasionally, but not consistently. I left it plugged into the adapter and turned on for several hours, and it eventually worked fine for the rest of the evening - I was able to turn the unit off and on and it functioned normally.
However, by the next morning, after spending the night unplugged, it is back to not working anymore. Do you have any ideas what might be making the unit act in this way?
Thanks in advance,
Max.

Answer
make sure none of the copper circuitry on the board weren't damaged by the battery leakage, if needed you can jumper over bad spots with fine wire, also go over boards (including display panel) with lens looking for bad solder joints, roland and others are well known for poor factory soldering. good hunting!!
