Audio Systems: Radio display went blank, 2008 nissan altima, nissan altima

Hello,  I have a 2008 Nissan Altima S with the factory stereo (am/fm, single CD. The display suddenly went blank as I was driving today.  All stereo functions work fine and my other dashboard lighting is not affected. Any thoughts on the problem and a possible resolution would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

The display in these radios is powered separately from the radio electronics.

I have the same problem in one of my own automobiles and if I turn it off and back on with the manual button on the radio the display comes back on. It seems to be a function of the switching logic from the power circuits.  So, try this and see if it brings back the display with a couple of trials with the power button.

If not, you may need to have it looked at by a service technician.  Donot, however, take it to the Nissan dealer as they very seldom have electronic specialists on staff.  Take it to a auto install/repair shop that specializes in car audio and radio installations.  They should be able to test and verify the matter in a few minutes.
