Audio Systems: Subwoofer/Amp, amplifier power, car sequence

Hey I have a 2003 toyota ext. Cab and I am wanting to buy a good system. I dot know a lot about buying subs, amps, and boxes. I want it to hit pretty hard but sound good too. I just don't know what the best size sub and amp I would need to get for my truck. And what brand name.

First, it must fit in the spaces available so as not to interfere with passenger space, hauling objects, etc.

Secondly, it must be compatible electrically with the head unit.

Thirdly, you must decide if you want built-in amps or separate amps.

Fifth, you will need to decide the budget - how much you want to spend.

Let me suggest you go to crutchfield.com and check out some of the options they have for your vehicle.  Work through their "outfit my car" sequence which will lead you to suggestions of what products will work/fit in your Toyota.

Amplifier power, size of speakers, cabinet design, etc. are all a function of what fits your interior of the pickup the budget and what you hope to achieve.  There are many Youtubes and review pages on the Internet that will help you decide on the level of performances that you want to achieve.
