Audio Systems: Kicker, dual voice coil, ohm impedance

Question
Sir,

I am currently stationed overseas and ordered a stereo system on-line. I'm a Kicker fan. I received 2 08 L7's dual 2ohm and a 08 zx1500.1 amplifier. I was told this set up matches perfectly together. I'm a rookie at installing stereos. I was wondering the best way to run or wire the subs to the amplifier so that i could get max or as close to max power from the amplifier and subs. Thank You.

Answer
There are many L7s so I would need to know the specific model you have, but if it is a dual voice coil version with each coil at 2 ohms the wiring is easy.  Here is a reference for you.

The above is the overall page with all wiring configurations listed.

Here is the one for your system as I understand it from your question:

The amp can handle a 2 ohm load and the above diagram will give a 2 ohm impedance from the dual voice coil Kickers you have...........    Hope this helps.
