Audio Systems: 03 tahoe 6 cd changer fix?, temecula area, scan tool

Question
I have a 2003 Tahoe with a stock 6 cd changer that has stopped ejecting disks. In an attempt to fix this problem I was able to get the radio out of the dash and onto my kitchen table where I had the needed light to try to fix the changer still attached to the radio. I was able to gently (what I thought anyway) remove the disks from the changer. I then reinstalled the radio/cdchanger back into the dash of my tahoe. Ok, the radio runs fine but the cd changer will not accept cd's. My question is, should I purchase a new cd changer that I can find on ebay and remove the radio/cd changer from the dash again and remove the existing changer with the new one purchased on ebay? Will that fix my problem? OR should I take the radio/cd changer out of my tahoe and mail it to an advertised fix it place and have a "professional" fix my radio and not even try this myself. I may end up doing it that way anyway. The dealer wants over 700 dollars so that seems to be the top cost line. Please help with my decision. I would really prefer to have a professional do this but I am in the Temecula area of So Cal and I can't find a local fix it place and I sure would like to have my car right again. Thanks ahead. I know I've written a lot, it's just that I would like to talk to someone in person and just do the right thing at the lowest cost obviously.

Answer
the dealer price is crazy you can buy a rebuild unit for 320.00
that is not the best idea but if there is no other choice, you can do that they come with 8 months warranty

any unit  from ebay will have to be send to the dealer to be reprogram and they need to have a GM SCAN TOOL

take it to a repair shop, if you don't have one call united radio or oemautosound.com
they can rebuild your radio

good luck
