Audio Systems: poor fm reception, external antennae, antenna connections

Question
i just got a jvc bluetooth car stereo installed and have been experiencing problems receiving popular radio stations in different areas.  With the stock system I had no problems with clarity or reception of fm stations but with new deck in some areas (stock deck and another car stereo I have no problems with static or interuptions in these same areas)I receive no signal. The deck was professionally installed and the antennae (2009 camry) is intergrated into rear windshield. Could it be the deck is faulty - though its brand new?  I cant imagine needing a external antennae boster considering poor reception in these areas has never been an issue (suburbs of Los Angeles - no mountains etc.)
Any suggestions?

Answer
the problem is not the radio, the problem is the car audio installer,
where did you go, best buy ?

go back and ask them to check the antenna connections, itis not a regular antenna it is a toyota power antenna,
if it was best buy don't go back, just find a new installer, someone with car audio experience
and not a kid out of high school

good luck
