Audio Systems: 2009 Chevy Avalanche LT, chevy avalanche, navigation screen

Question
Hi. Just bought the Avalanche with Bose system. Took to stereo shop referred by dealer. They installed amp, speakers and usa spec pa20gm for iPod.  Problem is the iPod is so complicated to use and does not display correctly on Navigation screen and my new truck now smells hot even just after driving a few miles to work.  Is it possible that something got wired wrong to make things smell hot under the hood?  Having a hard time finding an answer to this question and would appreciate anything you could tell me. Thanks! Michelle

Answer
there is no need to pull the radio to install the ipod interface, this plugs into the xm radio on the right side of the glove box
the amplifier needs power and they runn the cable the wrong way
take the car back and ask them to move the power cable and close the hole they made near the brake pedal

good luck
