QuestionI have a 2009 Ford Escape. 1 Disc CD player. 1 CD is jammed in it, everytime i try eject it it says No Disc. But there is one in there.. when i press load it says loading disc??? I dont know what to do?
AnswerSome times the disc will come out with a reset of the cd player mechanism - in this case the head unit. If the unit does not have the anti-theft coding you can merely remove power from the unit for 15 or 20 minutes and connect it up again. If it has the anti-theft coding make sure you have the code so you can turn it on again after power removal.
The power is most easily removed by disconnecting one of the cables from the battery. It can also be done by disconnecting the 12v constant line at the radio unit.
The reset does not always clear the mechanism. Other procedures can be tried and in the worst case the radio unit must be pulled out of the dash, covers removed and the disc manually extracted.
From googling around it seems this is a higher than average problem for the Escape. You may find other comments from owners with similar problems by doing a google search of your own.
You can find, also, special tools that are required to remove the unit from the dash. It is clipped in and the tool releases the clips so the unit can slide out of its holding box.
