Audio Systems: What Surround Speakers for Yamaha RX-V50, stereo analog outputs, bose acoustimass speakers

Question
Hope you can help ;)...I'd like to get a surround sound/home theater speaker set-up in my current home but I'm not sure what kind of speakers I can use with this amp, or what to look for.  In my previous house (10 yrs. ago), I had this amp (Yamaha RX-V850) hooked up with a set of Bose Acoustimass speakers but since the speaker system was installed, I left them behind & have never replaced.  Sorta miss the surround sound! So, I'm pretty sure this 90's amp can be paired up with a new home theater speaker set, but I'm not sure what I need to look for so it'll work optimally.  Here are the specs on the amp:
5 Channel Amp
80W+80W (8ohm) RMS Output Power, 0.015% THD, 20-20,000Hz (Front)
80W (8ohm) RMS Output Power, 0.015% THD, 20-20,000 Hz (Center)
25W+25W *8ohm) RMS Output Power, 0.08% THD, 1,000 Hz (Rear)
Digital Sound Field Processor; 4programs for Digital Sound Field Processing & 2 Programs for Dolby Surround (Dolby Pro Logic & Enhanced)

Think that's all you need to determine correct speaker set-up?  If not, let me know.  Your help most appreciated!  Suz

Answer
But your receiver does not have digital inputs, optical or coax. So, if you want "surround sound" you will need a tv that gives 5.1 output or five coax feeds to your amp. Very few of them do.  And, if your tv has only optical or coax output without other audio outputs (which are many) then you cannot interface the tv with this receiver.

BUT: If your tv has stereo analog outputs you can feed that into the receiver and set it for "multi-speaker" output using the Dolby processing in the receiver.

For speakers you can use any set of speaker systems that match the impedance of the receiver which appears to be 8 ohms on each of the amp outputs.

Let me know if you need more.

PS:  Hope you understand that what you will be able to do is depending much on audio output system of your tv.
