Audio Systems: the volume and control knob no longer working, electrical reset, electronic volume

I have a CDA 7894 Alpine and the volume knob no longer works it spins and spins but doesnt control the volume or adjust subwoofer it basically does nothing right now

Well, try turning the set off and on a couple of times to see if that will correct it.

Then, try lifting the 12v power line from it for an electrical reset (but make sure you have the theft code so you can start it back up when power is returned, otherwise you cannot turn it on).

If the resets do not help it means the electronic logic data is not getting to the electronic volume level setting circuit.  It is an internal failure and will need to be repaired by a qualified Alpine service tech.  Cost of repair should not be terrible; probably an IC or some small  part + labor for the tech/shop.
