Audio Systems: Equipment Handshake, sony xbr, denon receiver

I have a Sony XBR, Denon 3310Ci receiver and a motorola satellite PVR. I use a harmony logitech remote. When I power on the components with the remote, I do not get any audio or video. When I unplug the power to the satellite PVR, wait and reconnect the power and turn on the PVR, I receive audio and video. I have tried resequencing the remote but have not resolved this issue.

The motorola ( does not have HDMI output )is connected to the Denon receiver via DVI to HDMI and an audio optical cable.

Can you help resolve this problem?

Sorry, I know nothing about the Logitech remote unit except that many have complained about it not being compatible with all products it claims to support.  Have you tried other remotes?  Maybe a universal remote with sat, rcvr and tv control features would be better.
