Audio Systems: 2005 Chevrolet Impala Radio Reception, rear window antenna, 2005 chevrolet impala

Question
My question is in regards to the antenna.  I guess during this time GM thought it was a good idea to run the antenna through the back window.  With the stock radio and now with a JVC HD radio the reception is at times weak (difficult when trying to listen to HD stations).  Do you have any suggestions that might improve the radio reception?
Thank you,

Answer
Actually, a rear window antenna can be quite good but they are somewhat directional.

A rod antenna can always be mounted as a replacement.  Try crutchfield.com for an antenna that will work with your car.  Or, any good install shop can do the job.

I am not personally familiar with the JVC HD radio, but there are antenna kits that may provide the improvement in signal sensitivity.  Example:

Or universal antenna which can mount on the front wheel covers or rear trunk area.  They cost $9 and up and are easily installed if you are handy drilling holes and running cables, etc.

Here is another idea:

Hope this helps.
