Audio Systems: 2001/2 ford Mustang Cobra In Dash Radio /CD Stacker INPUT requirements, ford mustang cobra, cd stacker

Question
The internet is driving me around the bend!...ambiguous comments with no tangable facts or detail. I need your professional assistance please. I want to connect the audio from an aftermarket DIN 1 DVD / TV TUNER / SAT NAV. / AM FM TUNER etc. TO THE EXISTING Double DIN Mach 460 RADIO with in dash 6 STACK CD CHANGER.
(Mach Code on back of stacker 1R3F-18C815-FC).

- WILL THE "METRA  70-5519" DO THE JOB?
- WILL THE "USA Spec DFFORD1" DO THE JOB?
- WILL THE PIE UNIT DO THE JOB?
- IF NO WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

My car is a 2001 Ford Mustang STV Cobra convertible (4.6 32V).

There are two plugs plus the antenna (provision for 3 plugs) on the back of the DOUBLE DIN in dash Mach unit. The plugs insert in the back left and right THE FEMALE SOCKET IN BETWEEN THESE TWO IS NOT IN USE.

Does this help make it possible to connect a separate DVD/TUNER UNIT THROUGH THE MACH UNIT AND SPEAKERS?

I can only hope you don't mind helping me (us) with a solution.

Kind regards,

Denis.

Answer
Hi Denis,
I would have to see it in person to be certain and since you asked, I probably would not end up with any of the factory stuff installed.
I also do not want to run you around the bend but since you are out of the CONUS, I do not think I can send you to Crutchfield for assistance on a factory interface issue (usa only). Of course you must purchase something through them, but they are really the dogs' bone on those matters.
So, as not to leave you entirely hanging, I can point you towards Install Doctor for some basics on the pin-outs:

You might re-submit this question to Cleggsan if you have not already. He is top notch in the circuit board end of this and may or may not be able to provide further assistance.

I would add that a reputable, trusted local professional audio installer is always a good choice if you want safety, long life, good cosmetic integration and assurance for a wiring warranty which lasts the life of the vehicle.

Best of luck and regards,
